What is MART?

---

Founded in 2021 by Army veterans Aaron Estabrook and Fatima Jaghoori, MART began as a beacon of hope for Afghan refugees seeking solace in Manhattan. Recognizing a broader global need, by spring 2023, our mission expanded beyond Afghanistan as we began welcoming refugees, and we embraced a new identity as the Manhattan Area Resettlement Team.

MART provides services and resources to successfully adjust to their new homes

1. 1. "MART provides critical connections to resources for families adjusting to life in the Manhattan area and they do it with a heart for community. The team and volunteers embrace the mindset that 'it takes a village' and are dedicated to making Manhattan feel like home for folks from around the world. It is a meaningful place to make an impact and make volunteers proud to be a part of the MART community as well!"
