This role provides one-on-one and group support in job preparation, application assistance, soft skills training, and connection to employment opportunities. The specialist collaborates with case managers, instructors, and community partners to ensure clients are prepared to enter and thrive in the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Employment Support
- Assist clients with job search, job applications, resume building, and interview preparation
- Conduct employment readiness workshops or one-on-one sessions covering topics like workplace culture, communication, and time management
- Guide clients in understanding job requirements, work schedules, and employee rights
- Coordinates with the Case Manager and English Instructor to identify client needs and follows the Family Self Sufficient Plan
- Coordinates with the Case Manager to develop and maintain individualized employment plans with client goals and action steps
- Track client progress toward employment and provide follow-up after job placement
- Maintain accurate documentation of services in accordance with program requirements and confidentiality policies
3. Community & Employer Engagement
- Assist in onboarding, training, and supporting program staff or volunteers
- Help schedule and facilitate team or coordination meetings
- Represent MART at community forums, events, or meetings as needed
4. Administrative Tasks
- Ensure all services comply with funding and agency guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, training, and community engagement activities
- Perform additional duties as needed to support client success and program goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, human services, workforce development, psychology, sociology or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in program coordination or service delivery (experience in immigrant/refugee services a plus)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, CANVA and data entry tools
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment
- Knowledge of community resources, employment networks, and local labor market trends
- Bilingual or multilingual preferred
