Who We Are at ​​Manhattan Area Resettlement Team

Our ​History

Founded in 2021 by Army veterans Aaron Estabrook and Fatima Jaghoori, MART began as a beacon of hope for Afghan refugees seeking solace in Manhattan. Recognizing a broader global need, by Spring 2023, our mission expanded beyond Afghanistan as we negam welcoming refugees from across the globo and we embace a new identity as the Manhattan Area Resettlement Team. 

Our Vision

We envision a world where borders are transcended by unity and understanding. We strive to create a community in Manhattan where all refugees, regardless of their of their origin, feel welcomed, supported and empowered to rebuild their lives.
Our commitment goes beyond immediate resettlement. We aim to foster lasting connections, ensuring that every individual we serve becomes an integral part of the vibrant tapestry of our community. Together, we are building a future where diversity is celebrated and every story is a testament to resilience, hope, and the enduring human spirit.
