Ruphine's Journey to Entrepreneurship
Braiding Dreams into Reality
|
When Ruphine talks about hair, her face lights up with excitement. What began as a natural talent developed through practice and experience in Africa is now becoming the foundation of her growing small business as a hair braider in Kansas.
Ruphine recently shared her story with excitement in her voice. Though she never formally trained as a hairstylist at first, she discovered early on that braiding and beauty related work came naturally to her. “I didn’t really learn it at first,” she explained with a smile. “I practiced, and after that, people gave me information and encouragement, and I continued working on it.” That practice eventually became experience, and experience became confidence. Today, Ruphine offers hair braiding services. Friends describe her as gifted, creative, and deeply committed to helping others feel beautiful and confident. “She’s so talented,” one supporter shared during the conversation, “She can do all of it.” MART has rallied around her vision, offering encouragement and practical support. Through local partnerships and entrepreneurship programs, Ruphine is beginning to develop an online presence to showcase her work and connect with future clients. For Ruphine, this is only the beginning. With her skill, creativity, and a growing network of support, she is braiding together dreams, opportunity, and a future she is creating for herself and her family–one client at a time. |
